Choreography

During my time at Northwestern University, I choreographed for two full length student musicals: GODSPELL and BIG FISH. I also choreographed for Tonik Tap, Northwestern’s student tap dance group, which I was a member of for all four years of my undergrad.

As a choreographer, I seek to create movement that is influenced by the unique talents and strengths of the group of dancers I am working with. Especially when choreographing for musical theatre, I hope to not only explore and create movement that fits the world of the show, but also fits the bodies that inhabit it- both as ACTORS (what qualities of movement does this person like to do? what do they want to showcase?) and as CHARACTERS (what makes this character’s movement vocabulary unique?); and where ACTOR and CHARACTER intersect is where magic can be created through movement.
